Whole Wheat Avocado Bagels



One healthy way to make a bagel is to add avocado to whole wheat bread. They are a healthy and filling breakfast or snack because they are made with whole wheat flour and avocado, which makes them creamy.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 ripe avocado, mashed
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup non-fat Greek yogurt
  • 1 egg for egg wash
  • Sesame seeds optional, for topping

Instructions:

Mix yeast, honey, and warm water in a bowl

Wait five minutes until it foams up

Mix the yeast with the whole wheat flour, Greek yogurt, mashed avocado, and salt

Work the dough until it's smooth

Make 4 equal pieces of dough and shape them into bagel rounds

Put them on a baking sheet that has parchment paper on it

Turn on your oven and heat it up to 375F 190C

Beat the egg in a small bowl, then brush it on the bagels

If you want, you can sprinkle sesame seeds on top

As soon as you tap the bottom of one of the bagels, it should sound hollow

This means that they are done baking

Place the bagels on a wire rack to cool down
